Meet the Chamber Members: Tourist Information in Cyprus with Noa Markevitz
It all began in the aftermath of the COVID-19 pandemic. Israelis, having already gone through one or two lockdowns, were searching for an affordable and nearby vacation – and that’s how the website Cyprus was born. The site was created to provide information for all types of travelers to the island, including families, sports lovers, skippers, and even real estate investors who visit the island from time to time. It contains everything you need – from tourist information about destinations across the island to insurance, hotel recommendations, car rental options, and flights.
Congratulations – A New Website Is Born
The website is organized by destinations, making navigation easy and intuitive. Visitors can search by geographic area or freely explore information before and during their trip to Cyprus. This means the site is suitable for every traveler on the island, and everyone can find exactly what they’re looking for.
The topics are carefully selected based on popular search terms in various fields, always relying on verified and authoritative sources – as well as personal experience.
The goal is to successfully balance information, inspiration, and personal stories, while giving exposure to experiences people don’t always think of (did you know there’s even a ski resort in Cyprus?).
The results speak for themselves. Thousands of visitors enter the site every day, and there’s a growing number of collaboration requests from both local and Israeli partners.
The website also serves as an effective platform for promoting and advertising businesses from both Cyprus and Israel that operate in both markets – from tourism providers, restaurants, and hotels to real estate companies, financial services, and joint ventures. Thanks to its high visibility and the credibility it has earned, the site has become a natural bridge between the Israeli and Cypriot markets – a genuine meeting point for business cooperation.

Of course, over time and as search trends evolve, the website’s topics adapt accordingly – keeping it dynamic and up to date. There are also plans for future developments, including new collaborations with additional partners.
For now, not much can be revealed – but let’s just say that Noa (the site’s editor-in-chief) is already saving space in her suitcase for a few kilos of halloumi cheese, olives, and loukoum sweets.
Meet Noa – The Editor-in-Chief
As a professional librarian, Noa discovered (in her own words, “the hard way”) that there’s often a gap between theory and reality – even in the academic world. Over the years, she expanded her expertise to include fields such as information science, tourism, and writing – turning her into a true expert in travel content creation.
Noa believes Cyprus is “the closest abroad that still feels like home,” and each visit makes her fall in love with the island all over again. On her last trip, she left her heart (and a few euros) in the small villages like Droushia, Kalopanagiotis, and other places that broke her diet, her pronunciation – and her heart too.
She published her travel experiences in a series of articles on the website – starting here. You can also challenge her with your own questions through the site and discover for yourself that nothing beats genuine local knowledge and deep familiarity with every stone on the island.
Noa is well aware of the stereotype that Cyprus is only a “sun and sea” or weekend getaway destination – which is why, to her, the site is a true mission. She invites readers to explore the website and see for themselves that Cyprus is much more than that. Much more.
She’s confident that soon enough, you too will book a vacation on the island and realize one thing – Cyprus may be a small island, but the experience there is larger than life.
Beyond its tourism activity, Noa sees the Cyprus website as part of a broader goal – strengthening the ties between Israel and Cyprus not only through flights and vacations but also through culture, economy, and joint innovation. The website’s owner, who is also a board member of the Israel–Cyprus Chamber of Commerce, operates with a vision of promoting cooperation between the two nations in all fields – from tourism to investments and innovation. In Noa’s eyes, every article and recommendation on the site is not just an invitation to travel, but also a small bridge connecting two neighboring peoples – close at heart and only an hour’s flight apart.
