Meet the Chamber Members: Elkayam Industries
Elkayem Industries specializes in process solutions for environmental systems, solid waste, construction waste, and more. Quarry systems (conveying, screening), concrete plants and concrete products, powder and granular solid handling systems, mines, heavy conveying systems, and various types of conveyors worldwide.
The company was founded in Israel in 1974 and carries out numerous projects for the construction and recycling industries in Israel and abroad, which is why it is also considered a well-known and reputable name in Cyprus.
What began with Cypriot businesspeople who visited Israel in 1995 for quarrying and concrete exhibitions turned into a long-lasting relationship that eventually led to the construction of the largest quarry on the island.
Over time, the business activity evolved into personal connections with local clients, built on trust, leading to direct collaborations with key figures in Cyprus and ongoing work with a local agent.
Elkayem is building Cyprus
Today, Elkayem Industries indirectly supports new infrastructure projects being developed in Cyprus, in addition to providing engineering solutions and spare parts services to its clients on the island.
This activity forms an integral (and even central) part of the island’s development. For example:
Supplying concrete plants and equipment to the local concrete factory, without which concrete cannot be produced in Cyprus

Manufacturing quarry systems and equipment. This activity supplies the raw materials for construction (quarries and sand)

Building a recycling station for construction waste
Designing and manufacturing conveying systems at the Vassiliko cement plant
In practice, Elkayem Industries takes an active role (literally) in every stage of construction in Cyprus, so much so that most of the island’s future planned development (and there is plenty) will rely on products manufactured by its machinery.
Elkayem Industries – 30 years of industry in Cyprus
Since Elkayem has been operating in Cyprus for 30 years, it has valuable business perspective regarding the island that can benefit other entrepreneurs. For example, they still remember when Paphos was a fishing town rather than what they now call “Little London” or “Warm Moscow.”

According to the company, Cypriots are wonderful people, even similar to Israelis in their warmth and optimism. Despite the island’s rapid growth and development, the business atmosphere is not tense, people are more relaxed, and everything progresses in alignment with local growth.
At Elkayem Industries, there is a strong sense that the island’s potential has revealed itself not only as a tourism destination, but also as a center for business, technological, and industrial development.
For them, Cyprus is a winning combination of business, enjoyment, and a strategic maritime and aviation location in the Eastern Mediterranean.
The contribution of the Israel-Cyprus Chamber of Commerce

Elkayem began operating in Cyprus before joining the Israel-Cyprus Chamber of Commerce, but since becoming a member, its success has steadily grown.
According to Elkayem, the Israel-Cyprus Chamber of Commerce helps establish tax-related connections, organizes B2B conferences, creates business opportunities, brings together professionals from the same sectors in both countries, and in general – expands horizons and opens doors that would not have opened otherwise.
